Lying at its Finest…

For those who get into their head a little too much…
Who feel like it’s up to them to ensure all is well…
Who carry weight that you were never meant to hold…

The body learns these ways of existing that it was never meant to know…
Past experiences, fears, attachments, ghosts— hold you back…

Until you just stop…
When everything about the human body was designed to move…

Holding all this inside— maybe the things that were never even your fault…
Separates you from your heart…
And it feels so empty, dull, until you feel nothing—
And all you hear is the fear—because maybe someone lied to you, or life experiences did.
The truth got buried, lost, somewhere in between…

So now… you just lie to yourself.

We don’t want to accept or believe the bad parts of ourselves…
Or maybe, that’s all we pay attention to.
When it’s all gone away—you—just you, are still standing there.
Is there not more than this revolving sickness of the mind?

The wonder, healing, beauty of life gets stolen from us—there are many dark corners of reality.
Recovering this beauty is like engaging in warfare.
The distorted version of reality tells us that this is all there is…

Lying at its finest…

Just because that’s all you see, doesn’t mean that’s all there is.
